Looking to build new amenities or expand your holiday park? You need an approach that doesn’t take too long, impact your guests – or distract you from running your business.

That’s where prefabricated holiday park construction comes in. It’s a fast, efficient and less disruptive way to keep your facilities modern and functional. And, using this factory-built approach alleviates many of the challenges traditional construction can present – while giving you a high-quality, durable end result.

We’re going to look more closely at the reasons why off-site construction works for holiday parks. We’ll also explore Ahipara Holiday Park’s recent project with Advance Build and why it was so successful.

1. Factory-built is fast

As any tourism operator knows, the industry is highly seasonal. Missing even one peak holiday period can drastically impact your bottom line.

The beauty of prefabrication is that it can reduce build time by up to 62%. That means you’re up and running sooner after making upgrades to your park – keeping your business operating and income flowing.

At Advance Build, we’ve spent over 16 years fine-tuning our streamlined manufacturing process – meaning your construction is quick and efficient. And, because much of the building happens inside our controlled factory, your project isn’t delayed by bad weather.

Ahipara Holiday Park owners Aimee and Cormac O’Keeffe opted for factory-built construction to upgrade and expand their facilities. Working closely with Advance Build, they built a completely new ablution block – including bathrooms, kitchen, laundry and storage space – in just 4 months.

Aimee says she was impressed with both the speed of construction and Advance Build’s expertise. In fact, Ahipara Holiday Parks’ new ablution block was delivered ahead of schedule – and in plenty of time to cater for the 400+ guests they hosted over the holiday season.

We chose Advance Build because they offered a fast build time and a team that was easy to work with,’ recalls Aimee. ‘The experience was really smooth and the communication was unreal. It blew me away and [they went] above and beyond what we expected.’

At the end of the day, it comes down to this simple equation: less downtime = faster ROI.

2. Building offsite means keeping your park open

Noise.
Safety hazards.
Unsightly work sites.

Not what your guests want. And you don’t either if it leads to a negative experience for them. Yet that’s the reality of many traditional builds.

Prefabricated construction, however, largely happens off site. That means far less upheaval in your park – and, more importantly, less impact on guests.

3. Buildings that last (and look good)

Holiday park facilities are some of the most heavily used out there: guests stream through kitchens, bathrooms and other communal areas at all hours of the day and night. That level of use also calls for frequent cleaning – so durability is a must.

Aimee says Advance Build delivered a facilities block that was not only robust, but was customised to the needs of the Ahipara Holiday Park.

‘The team translated our own ideas into a high-quality, functional space that suits both our business needs and guest expectations,’ she explains.’The finished result is outstanding – they brought our vision to life with innovation and attention to detail.

‘The feedback from the guests has been amazing…and it’s really fit for purpose, [it] does exactly what we need. We love it. Our staff who are cleaning it, love it. And our guests really love it.

Of course, durable doesn’t have to mean unattractive. Aimee says the new facilities aren’t just high-spec; they’re attractive, too.

‘Not many people would say a block of toilets is beautiful – but it really is! The final finishes…the marble countertop…it just looks lovely and we’re proud of the space we now offer.’

4. Construction without the hassle

Building projects traditionally have a reputation for being stressful – and with good reason. Traditional construction often takes longer than expected, costs more and doesn’t always deliver on quality.

On top of that, clients are suddenly deep in a process they know little (or nothing) about. They need to consider – and make decisions around – concepts they simply aren’t familiar with. This, on top of the everyday job of actually running a holiday park, can become extremely challenging.

But at Advance Build, we take that stress away by managing every element of the project.

This includes:

  • Design
  • Planning
  • Resource + building consents
  • Infrastructure
  • Project management
  • Council compliance.

Throughout the project, clients receive regular updates. They can rest easy because they always know what’s going on – yet aren’t bogged down in the actual building process. This turnkey approach was a big plus for Aimee and Cormac during the Ahipara Holiday Park construction.

‘Throughout every stage – from initial contact to the development and building phases – Advance Build was great,’ says Aimee. ‘They handled all the time-consuming tasks with council and kept us up-to-date on progress.

‘We’d get photo updates and weekly updates,’ she continues. ‘And any time there was a question or something they needed from us, it was always really clear and easy to follow.’

Cormac agrees.

‘Everything was done when they said they were going to do it,’ he says. ‘The project ran within budget and [was finished] a week before the guaranteed completion date. I would definitely recommend Advance Build – just the efficiency of it all, the lack of disruption and how quickly you can get your new building in place and liveable.

‘What I would say to other holiday park owners that were considering Advance Build is to go for it – you will not regret it. It will be the best decision you make.’
